Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy covers usetale.com and its private preview. It says what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who else handles it, and what you can ask of us.
Who we are
Tale is run by Goodvibe OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 14101638. Goodvibe OÜ decides how your information on this site is used, so it is the controller under the GDPR and the UK GDPR.
Write to us at hello@usetale.com about anything in this policy. A person reads every message.
What we collect, and why
When you visit
Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, and in doing so it handles your IP address and the details your browser sends with each request; when it checks that you’re a person, it may set a security cookie (see the cookie policy). To stop anyone trying codes over and over, Cloudflare counts requests from each address for a minute at a time; we never store your address. Our own logs record what happened and whether it worked, never your email, your address or a code. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a site that works and stays safe.
When you ask for an invitation
When you press “Request access”, we receive your email address and the time you asked. Nothing else: no name, no message. A copy goes to our team by email, so a person can read it and reply. Asking again with the same address updates the same record rather than creating a new one. Legal basis: taking the steps you asked for, and our legitimate interest in replying.
When you enter with an invitation
When your code is accepted, your browser receives one cookie that keeps you in the preview until you leave or the invitation ends. We record that the invitation was used and when, never who you are. We never store the code itself, only a scrambled form of it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in letting invited people in, and keeping everyone else out.
When an agent acts for you
An assistant or agent can ask for an invitation, or enter with one you hold, on your behalf, through the same door and under the same rules. To ask for an invitation it must tell us that you asked. We keep the agent’s product name, never yours, and treat what it sends exactly as if you had sent it yourself.
When you write to us
We keep your message and our reply so we can carry on the conversation. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your request for an invitation, and its email to our team | 12 months from your latest request, then deleted |
| The preview cookie | Until you leave, or the invitation ends: at most 30 days |
| The record that an invitation was used | A week after the visit ends; the log of what happened, with no personal details, 12 months |
| Emails you send us | As long as the conversation is useful to you, and at most 12 months after the last message |
Ask us at any time and we delete sooner.
Who else handles it
We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising. These companies handle it for us, only to do the job described here:
- Cloudflare: hosting, the database that holds requests for an invitation (in Western Europe), email to our team, and request limits.
- Our email provider: the mailbox for hello@usetale.com.
Cloudflare is based in the United States. Where your information leaves the European Economic Area or the UK, it is protected by the safeguards the law requires: the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Ask us for a copy of the safeguard that applies.
What you can ask of us
You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or receive it in a form you can take elsewhere. Write to hello@usetale.com. We reply within a month, and act on a deletion request within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first and we’ll put it right. You can also complain to Estonia’s Data Protection Inspectorate (aki.ee), to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), or to the authority where you live.
Cookies
We use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. What the site keeps in your browser is listed in the cookie policy.
Children
Tale is for people who run hospitality businesses. It isn’t meant for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change affects what you’ve already given us, we write to you first.
